We do not ask for payment card numbers, government ID numbers, or precise location.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it in five narrow situations:
Service providers. Companies that run parts of this operation for us: Beehiiv (website hosting, subscriber list, email delivery), Google (Google Analytics, for site traffic measurement, and Google Tag Manager, which manages the tracking code on our site), an automation service that connects the tools we use, such as sending events to Meta and adding new subscribers to Beehiiv, and an email verification service that checks whether email addresses look valid and actively used. They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
Advertising with Meta. We use Meta's business tools to measure and improve the ads we run through Meta, for example on Facebook and Instagram. When you visit our site or subscribe, information about that activity is sent to Meta, both through your browser and server to server. It can include your IP address, browser and device details, cookie identifiers, and your email address in hashed form, which Meta uses to match the activity to a Meta account if you have one. Meta uses this information to provide measurement services and to target and deliver ads, under its own Privacy Policy. The same applies to anything you enter in a sign-up form inside one of our Meta ads. See Cookies and tracking below for how to opt out.
Newsletter recommendations. If you opt into another publication through a recommendation on our site or in our emails, your email address is passed to that publication so they can add you. This only happens when you actively choose it, and their privacy policy governs what they do from there.
Affiliate links. Some links in the newsletter may earn us a commission. Clicking one can pass a referral code to that merchant so the sale is credited to us. We do not send them your email address or your profile details.
Legal requirements. If the law requires it, or if we need to protect our rights or someone's safety.
The site uses cookies, pixels, and similar technology for basic functionality, to remember you, and to measure traffic and advertising through the tools named above. Some advertising measurement also happens server to server, outside your browser. Our emails include a standard tracking pixel that records opens, and links that record clicks.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may stop working properly. Browser settings do not affect information sent server to server. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. Turning off image loading in your email client will stop the open pixel from firing.
To control how Meta uses this information for ads, visit your Meta ad preferences. You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from many participating companies at aboutads.info/choices.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights over your data. Because the subscriber list is stored and processed by Beehiiv, requests to exercise those rights are handled through Beehiiv, and their privacy policy explains how to make one.
We keep your data for as long as you are subscribed, plus a reasonable period after that. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of the unsubscribe itself so we do not email you again by mistake. Deletion is handled through Beehiiv, as described above.
Rope Drop Rundown is operated from the United States and is intended for a United States audience. We write about Walt Disney World for readers planning trips in the U.S., and we do not target or market the newsletter to people in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or the European Economic Area.
If you access our website or submit information from another country, your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your own country. By providing your information, you consent to that transfer.
