Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 10, 2026

The short version

We collect your email address so we can send you Rope Drop Rundown. We collect whatever else you choose to tell us, like your favorite park or when your next trip is, so the newsletter is more useful to you. We do not sell your information. You can unsubscribe from any email in one click, and your data can be deleted on request through Beehiiv.

Who we are

Rope Drop Rundown is a free weekly newsletter about Walt Disney World, owned and operated by Neon Expeditions LLC. Gabe Travers is the publisher. This policy covers ropedroprundown.com and the emails we send.

Rope Drop Rundown is published on Beehiiv, which hosts our website, stores our subscriber list, and delivers our email. Beehiiv processes that data on our behalf under its own privacy policy at beehiiv.com/privacy.

What we collect

What you give us:

  • Your email address when you subscribe.
  • Optional details you choose to share: favorite park, how often you visit, affiliations (Annual Passholder, DVC member, D23, Castaway Club), when your next trip is, what you like to read about, and who you usually travel with. All of it is optional.
  • Your answers when you vote in a poll or fill out a survey.
  • Whatever you write if you reply to an issue or email us directly.

What we collect automatically:

  • Email engagement: whether an issue was opened, and which links were clicked.
  • Standard web data when you visit the site: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the site that referred you.
  • Referral data if you share your personal subscribe link, so we can credit the referral to you.

We do not ask for payment card numbers, government ID numbers, or precise location.

How we use it

  • To write and send the newsletter.
  • To decide what to cover. Poll results and click patterns, read in aggregate, tell us what readers actually care about.
  • To make the newsletter more relevant to you based on the details you shared.
  • To keep the list healthy: handling bounces, spam complaints, and inactive addresses.
  • To answer you when you write to us.
  • To comply with the law.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it in four narrow situations:

Service providers. Companies that run parts of this operation for us: Beehiiv (website hosting, subscriber list, email delivery), Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (site traffic measurement), and Meta Pixel and Reddit Pixel (audience measurement for advertising). They may only use the data to provide their service to us.

Newsletter recommendations. If you opt into another publication through a recommendation on our site or in our emails, your email address is passed to that publication so they can add you. This only happens when you actively choose it, and their privacy policy governs what they do from there.

Affiliate links. Some links in the newsletter may earn us a commission. Clicking one can pass a referral code to that merchant so the sale is credited to us. We do not send them your email address or your profile details.

Legal requirements. If the law requires it, or if we need to protect our rights or someone's safety.

Cookies and tracking

The site uses cookies and similar technology for basic functionality, to remember you, and to measure traffic through the tools named above. Our emails include a standard tracking pixel that records opens, and links that record clicks.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may stop working properly. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on. Turning off image loading in your email client will stop the open pixel from firing.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe. There is a link at the bottom of every email.
  • Update your details. Use the preferences link in any email, or just reply and tell us.
  • Access or delete your data. For data access or deletion related to the newsletter, please use the links provided in Beehiiv emails or refer to Beehiiv's Privacy Policy. Beehiiv stores and processes our subscriber list and handles those requests directly.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights over your data. Because the subscriber list is stored and processed by Beehiiv, requests to exercise those rights are handled through Beehiiv, and their privacy policy explains how to make one.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as you are subscribed, plus a reasonable period after that. If you unsubscribe, we keep a record of the unsubscribe itself so we do not email you again by mistake. Deletion is handled through Beehiiv, as described above.

Where we operate

Rope Drop Rundown is operated from the United States and is intended for a United States audience. We write about Walt Disney World for readers planning trips in the U.S., and we do not target or market the newsletter to people in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or the European Economic Area.

If you access our website or submit information from another country, your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your own country. By providing your information, you consent to that transfer.

Children

Rope Drop Rundown is written for adults planning Disney trips. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page and change the effective date at the top when this policy changes. If a change is significant, we will say so in the newsletter.
