Greetings fellow Rope Droppers,
Well, this time next week I’ll be back down in Orlando, and I’m pretty excited. How excited? A certain WDW commercial comes to mind…we’ll leave you with that nostalgia to wrap up.
But this week, even in the last few days of summer, we’re already thinking ahead to the holidays. And that’s where we kick things off.
We started with 421 stories and bring you this 4-minute read.

Just this morning… Disney has released the lineup of Candlelight Processional narrators for this season. While there are familiar faces like Gary Sinise and Marlee Matlin, more than half of this year’s narrators will be new to the podium.
Who won’t you see this year? Long-standing narrator Neil Patrick Harris. But as WDW Magic notes, that’s likely just due to a conflict with his Broadway engagement, ART.
Mark your calendar: Reservations for Candlelight Processional dining packages go live October 14. (In our opinion, these are the best ways to get a good seat and avoid a long line.)
A few other holiday season planning notes for you this week:
Reservations for Jazzy Holidays are now live. That’s the experience in The Hollywood Brown Derby that only happens during Jollywood Nights.
Also on the Jollywood front, Disney has now posted showtimes for The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure and Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After, during the event. It means a lot more entertainment options to choose from this year!
The opening night of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party has sold out. But things are trending differently than last year, notes Blog Mickey:
This sellout comes about a week later than the first sellout of 2024, continuing a trend of a slower sellout cadence that we first noticed with Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party this year.
Bottom line: If you’re planning a Disney World trip this holiday season, now’s the time to get thinking.
What’s your holiday favorite at Walt Disney World?

We shared the breaking news last week on the Disney Adventure’s delayed maiden voyage, a three month push from December to March. That’s the new mega Disney cruise ship that will home port in Singapore.
Now, we’re getting a (probably unauthorized) look at just how much work is left to do. Ostsee-Zeitung, a German regional newspaper, posted photos from inside the Adventure, purported to be taken both in Wismar and Bremerhaven. They don’t say which photo is which, but the ship had only just arrived in Bremerhaven for sea trials this month. Scroll through them on Instagram…
Meanwhile… the Disney Destiny is scheduled to make her float down the Ems river toward Eemshaven this weekend. That’s currently scheduled to start in the wee hours of Saturday morning, (We’ve always wanted to go to one of these in person! Maybe some day…)

Year-long Celebration: Can you believe Morimoto Asia is 10 years old? Yeah, us either. Well, they’re celebrating with a year of special menu items and drinks. If you collect stamps for a bunch of these items, you’re in the running for a prize! (Disney Food Blog)
First Look: As the renovations on Bay Lake Tower at Disney’s Contemporary Resort wrap up, we’re getting our first look inside the new, Mary Blair-inspired interiors. It’s definitely a glow up this resort needed, and we love to see the updated theming. (AllEars)
In Mourning: Gino, a 44‑year‑old gorilla at Animal Kingdom, has passed away. He’d been at the park since opening day in 1998 and was father to 14 offspring, some of which still call Disney home. (WDW Magazine)
Last Chance: Reminder that Star Wars Launch Bay will close by the time of our next issue. The last day of operation is September 24, to make way for The Magic of Disney Animation. (Attractions Magazine)
